Fortune’s Folly brings nothing short of ecstatic, sound-popping entertainment. Lead singer, Calysta Cheyenne leaves you with her memorable air-punching, side-kicking, crowd-pleasing interactions and vocals you won’t soon forget. Surrounded by her chill band members, guitarist Ira Mazie, bassist Jesse Sanchez, and drummer Alex Koleber who fill the air with a high-energy electric rock that in spirit resembles the classic sounds of NO DOUBT. However, Fortune’s Folly earns its own signature space in today’s music despite nostalgic hints of sounds past.
I had recently discovered Fortune’s Folly this past winter on a random visit to Howie’s on Front Street (Medford, OR). I had no idea who they were and we did not stay super long so I had to track them down via Google. Fortune’s Folly originates from Eugene, Oregon, and the band is a very genuine group of Oregonians. I really love seeing them shine!
Concert photography can be tricky, but super rewarding. Especially with a subject such as Cheyanne with her energetic moves. Lighting can be moment to moment to catch the right expression in the right light. I love the challenge of finding interesting angles that tell the complete story.

They’ve got a great space for the sound environment and it’s covered but in the open air on beautiful vineyard landscapes.
