There’s something about providing a client with headshots that fit their personal brand perfectly. I value taking the time to research someone’s personal business model and what their image should say.
I met Tina Bango, founder of N Health, via a business referral. I was able to really connect with Tina’s line of work as someone who strongly believes diet is the best medicine (that’s an entirely different tangent on my part). I wanted her images to really represent what she is all about. It’s one thing to simply take headshots of someone, it’s an entirely different thing to create a set of images that allow her potential clientele to feel good about her image before meeting her in person.
I feel like this final image shouts out loud what she is all about! Tina is a Registered Nurse, Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Certified GAPS Diet Practitioner and the founder of N Health. What a Wonder Woman!

Having Tina sit down, lean in slightly and tilt her head as if she’s really listening to you, speaks louder than a simple headshot. Tina is a consultant, and she really cares about you, her potential client. She is going to sit down and listen to you and help you solve your needs. Little did Tina know, this is what I was doing with my posing. I didn’t tell her to sit down and act like she is listening to me, I directed her step by step with other words that gave her the ability to pull off this pose without feeling posed.
The key to getting the right looking headshots starts with choosing an appropriate environment for both visually emphasizing the clients brand as well as their comfort level. I chose this space based on the fact that it was outdoor and garden-green and there were many organic area’s we could use for posing comfortably – low rock walls, stairs and pathways. I could have had her just stand in a field, but that’s uncomfortable, and if the client is uncomfortable, it will definitely show, not to mention a field wouldn’t give emphasis as much as our garden here.
In addition to choosing a garden for her N Health headshots, Tina is also a personal trainer at a Crossfit Gym – knowing we were doing both types of shots, my location had a spot that gave me a more industrial, urban look (which speaks Crossfit). We changed her top out and used this space to give her an alternative look to fit that brand. Overall, I really felt like we ended up with a fantastic set of images that suited her needs.

I plan to start seeing Tina in January about my own autoimmune issues. I personally have had Rheumatoid Arthritis tied to Fructose Malabsorption for over 7-years now. I took time from work and stress and lack of sleep around 2-years ago and focused on an Autoimmune Paleo Diet and my family’s diet. I definitely felt a ton better and was able to start running again. However, I know there is another step forward in feeling better that I may not understand how to do myself. Meeting Tina felt like fate. I have never met a nutritionist who knew anything about Autoimmune Paleo Diets and much more. I say all this because Autoimmune is so prevalent these days, and anyone who follows and knows me, knows I’m a “food is medicine” junkie.
